Beautiful English silverplated chafing dish made by Mappin & Webb during the late 19th century
Classically designed chafing or warming dish or Bain Marie
Two liners on the inside, one pierced and one not
Raised on four very fancy claw or paw form feet
Domed lid is beautifully hand engraved with cornucopia of flowers
The underside is marked Mappin & Webb and Prince's Plate for the type of silver-plating used
This piece is in great condition for its age. There are a couple of small scratches, otherwise no issuesThe dish is still well insulated and is ready to be used as intended
12 1/2 inches from handle to handle and is 8 1/4 inches tall
The usable dish or bowl portion measures about 6 3/4 by 8 3/4 inches
